This rarely staged work by Stanislaw Moniuszko, the father of Polish opera, is performed with musical arrangement by maestro Rafał Kłoczko. It is directed by Ilaria Lanzino, an Italian stage director of the young generation, famous for her unconventional and innovative productions. She sees “Jawnuta” as a story about the Polish Roma and their complex history, about the power of prejudice and about finding ways to prevent it. The audience will be moved by the wistful tunes of the Roma songs and enchanting dances, while the stage setting created by the unbounded imagination of Dorota Karolczak will leave all opera lovers captivate.
