Arkadiusz Gumny

A soloist of Poznań Opera ballet. He is a graduate of Olga Sławska-Lipczyńska State Ballet School in Poznań. Having completed ballet education in 1998 he began to work at Poznań Opera House where he was soon promoted to ballet soloist.

He has collaborated with various Polish and international choreographers including: Conrad Drzewiecki, Henryk Konwiński, Teresa Kujawa, Emil Wesołowski, Barbara Gołaska, Andrzej Glegolski, Marek Różycki, Grey Veredon, Antal Fodor, Waldemar Wołk-Karaczewski, Sławomir Woźniak, Karina Elver, Montserrat Leon, Giovanni di Palma, Rami Be'er, Itziki Galili, Jacek Przybyłowicz, Sonja Marchiolli, Krzysztof Pastor, Kenneth Greve, Andrzej Ziemski, Kimmo Sandell, Tuuli Tuominen-Sandell, Joseph Kerwin, Paweł Mikołajczyk and Iwona Pasińska.

Numerous group and solo parts are to be found in his portfolio. He appeared in such well-known ballets as: “The Nutcracker”, “The Peacock and the Girl”, “Marek Różycki’s Ballets”, “Firebird”, “Giselle”, “Scheherazade”, “Mandrake”, “Harnasie”, “Myths”, “Medea”, “Pan Twardowski”, “Don Quixote”, Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9”, “Chronicle of a Death Foretold”, “Salto ergo sum”, or Krzysztof Pastor’s “Dangerous Relationships”.

During his career he has portrayed many main characters in ballets such as: “The Count of Monte Cristo”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” - Puck (G. Veredon), “The Trial” - Judas (A. Fodor), “Swan Lake” - Siegfried (K. Grave), “Romeo and Juliet” - Mercutio (E. Wesołowski), “Zorba, the Greek”, “Conrad Drzewiecki’s Ballets”, “Creation of the World” (U. Scholz), “La Sylphide” - Gurn (A. Bournonville), Strauss’s “Four Last Songs” choreographed by Rudi van Dantzig, “Black & White”: “Things I Told Nobody” (I. Galili), “Butterflies” (R. Be’er), “The Rite of Spring” (P. Julius), “Cinderella” - Prince (P. Chalmer).
