Andrzej Płatek

Biogram

A graduate of the State Ballet School in Łódź which he finished in 1984. Between 1984 and 1988 he was a dancer of the Grand Theater in Łódź, until 1992 he danced in Polish Dance Theater and taught classical dance in the General Ballet School in Poznań. In 1992 he was involved as a ballet soloist at Wrocław Opera House.

He has been working at Poznań Opera House since 1995. As a soloist of our ballet he played many unforgettable ballet parts including Miller in “The Three-Cornered Hat”, Devil in the performance of “Pan Twardowski” or the title part in “Zorba, the Greek”.

Apart from the above-mentioned, his artistic repertoire holds solo parts such as: Drosselmeyer in “The Nutcracker”, Rothbart in “Swan Lake”, Hilarion in “Giselle”, Gemache in “Don Quixote”, Coppelius in “Coppelia”, Bottom in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, The Leader of the Persecutors in “The Trial”, Tybalt in “Romeo and Juliet”, Pantalone in “Servant of Two Masters”, El Cortesano in “Conrad Drzewiecki’s Ballets” and many more.

He studied Marketing and Management at Poznań University of Social Sciences as well as at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań where he obtained master’s degree. He also finished post-graduate studies in Taxes and Treasury and Financial Accounting.

From March through August 2014 he was the manager of our Theater’s ballet. He has been a member of the Theater Council for 15 years.
