“...beautiful poetry connected with beautiful music can open the least musical of ears and hearts” – as Stanisław Moniuszko wrote with great conviction. Although the composer himself preferred more sizeable works for an expanded orchestra and a number of soloists, shorter pieces were the ones he wrote more often: songs for solo voice and piano. But it is in these musical trifles that you can hear the artistry of the author of Halka, whom the next generations would call the “Polish Schubert” for good reason.

From over 300 songs which Moniuszko meticulously collected, composed, arranged, and wrote down, we will hear the most famous ones, such as Prząśniczka (The Spinner), as well as those that do not make it to the repertoire as often. And for those who fear their ear is “the least musical,” we must assure you that Master Stanisław will definitely be happy with your presence because, the truth is, in Moniuszko’s songs, having a keen heart for music is more important than having a keen ear.
