Victories on battlefields, devotion of the underlings, a beloved wife – fate is definitely kind to Otello. However, the happy moments pass unnoticed when the hero's mind is taken over by suspicion and his heart is filled with jealousy. Otello's constant questioning of the beautiful Desdemona’s fidelity pushes him into the abyss of doubt, which ultimately leads to his doom.

Otello in the directorial interpretation of David Pountney and under the musical direction of Jacek Kaspszyk is one of the greatest performances of the Poznań Opera House. A web of intrigue woven by the whispers of deceptive allies set against the backdrop of passionate music will take us deep into the darkness of the human mind.
