Thomas Lempertz
Biogram
The fashion designer, costume designer and former dancer Thomas Lempertz completed his dance training at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. After graduating in 1994, he danced with the Stuttgart Ballet under the direction of Marcia Haydee. In 2003, he ended his dance career to devote himself to fashion design. He opened his own fashion studio and boutique in Stuttgart. Inspired by old fashion houses and contemporary haute couture, he designed collections, costumes and tailored outfits.
In 2011 he was nominated for the New Faces Award Fashion. He graduated from the Stuttgart Art Academy with a degree in Intermedial Design and has been working as an artist, photographer and costume designer specialising in ballet since 2013. Since then, he has created numerous costume designs for renowned choreographers such as Marco Goecke, Bridget Breiner, Katarzyna Kozielska, Kevin O'Day, Benvindo Fonseca and Demis Volpi, with whom he has worked for many years. He also leads art and movement workshops and is a guest lecturer for dance, choreography and movement at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart.
