Mauro Bigonzetti
Biogram
Mauro Bigonzetti was born in Rome.
His artistic experience begun at the Opera Theatre of his own city, where he studied and worked from 1972 until 1983.
The following year, he joined Aterballetto as dancer for ten years before leaving the Company and totally focused on choreography.
His first creation, Sei in Movimento, was presented in1990.
In 1997 he was entrusted with the Artistic Direction of Aterballetto that he headed until 2007, the year in which he decided to leave the direction and to continue his activity as choreographer free lance.
In 2016 he directed the Corpo di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala.
In the last year, he staged several new important productions, among which King Lear with the Stuttgart Ballet and performed by Egon Madsen, and Madina, in Teatro alla Scala, performed by Roberto Bolle.
His works have been performed by several dance companies among wich the most important Theatres in the world.
